Meraki Healing is the vision and creation of one passionate person.

Our Founder and Principal Therapist:

Adèle Atkinson once enjoyed a fast-paced career, running nationwide projects for international companies.  In 2014 she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and advised to avoid every form of stress – especially linked to her job.  It was a life-changing moment.

Through the difficult period which followed she came to see the importance of paying attention to the human condition.  Of listening to the body and finding ways to work with the limitations of a chronic condition rather than allowing ourselves to be defined by it.  She might describe herself as determined, what we see is her passion shining through everything she does.

Adèle is qualified in therapeutic massage, fascia informed bodywork, oncology touch therapy, facials and reflexology.  Meraki Healing is her offering to those who struggle with chronic conditions, and especially those who find conventional medicine cannot address their aches and restricted movements.

Meraki is a modern Greek word.  It describes the situation in which an individual has so much passion for what they do, they leave a piece of themself inside it.  It seemed fitting, somehow.
